Bupleurum adds airy dimension to the garden and vase. It’s cute chartreuse blooms grow in sprays and can be used anytime after it’s florets open until it sets seed.

Growing Information:

Bupleurum likes a cool start, so sow your seeds in Fall, late Winter or very early Spring.

Starting Indoors: Surface sow them into a seed tray, press the seeds into the pre-moistened soil to ensure contact, spritz with water, put another inverted tray on top, and stick them on a shelf for a few weeks. Check regularly for moisture. Remove the top tray when 50% have sprouted, and place under grow lights. Harden off before planting outside.

Direct Sowing: Surface sow 6” apart into a well-amended bed in Fall, later Winter or very early Spring. Cover with 1-2” of mulch and frost cloth for protection from pests.
